Willkommen beim Lab.30 dem Augsburger Medienkunstfestival
Das lab.30–Festival in Augsburg versteht sich als Treffpunkt und Präsentationsfläche für lokale, regionale und internationale Künstlerinnen und Künstler aus allen Bereichen der Medienkunst.
An vier Tagen kommen im Kulturhaus abraxas und anderen Orten Augsburgs Kreative zusammen und geben einen Einblick in ihre aktuellen Arbeiten: In Ausstellungen, bei Konzerten, Performances, Workshops und Clubnächten.
Das lab.30 bietet eine Plattform für künstlerisch-mediale Experimente, die neue Medien einsetzen, unsere Blickwinkel erweitern und Diskussionen auf Augenhöhe ermöglichen, wie die digitale Welt aussehen und unser aller Zukunft nachhaltig mitgestaltet werden kann.
Zentral ist neben den künstlerischen Begegnungen, der Austausch und die Vernetzung der Kulturschaffenden untereinander. Das Festival macht erfahrbar, wie neue Technologien unser Leben verändern, wie VR, Robotik oder Machine-Learning zu sozialem und ökologischen Fortschritt beitragen können.
fragile future
Unsere Zukunft ist kein stabiler berechenbarer Raum: Sie ist fragil und unterliegt dem stetigen Wandel. In einer Welt, die sowohl von Krisen und Unsicherheiten als auch von Hoffnung und Fortschritt geprägt ist, wird Medienkunst zum Resonanzkörper: Sie macht Fragilität sichtbar, hörbar, erlebbar und ruft dazu auf, neue Formen von Widerstandskraft und Verantwortung zu entwickeln.
Ausstellung
Über vier Tage hinweg präsentiert das lab.30 aktuelle Medienkunst. Die Exponate sind nicht gemalt oder gezeichnet, sondern programmiert, digital erstellt, motorisiert, verdrahtet oder robotergestützt und oft klangvoll. Beim lab.30 ist immer auch Mitmachen gefragt: Viele der Installationen sind interaktiv und laden vom Technikneuling bis zum Nerd alle zum Entdecken, Nachdenken und Anfassen ein. Zahlreiche Arbeiten hinterfragen den Umgang mit neuen Technologien und bieten Raum für Visionen und Hoffnungen für die Zukunft. Das Kulturhaus abraxas verwandelt sich dabei in ein kreatives Labor, das Jung und Alt vom Keller bis zum Dachboden erkunden können.
Performances
Die Ausstellung wird von einem vielfältigen Konzert- und Performanceprogramm begleitet. Das Ticket gilt je Tag für Ausstellung und Performances. Die Performances finden im Theater des Kulturhaus abraxas oder in der benachbarten St. Thaddäus-Kirche statt.
Workshops
Selbst Hand anlegen und am Ende ihr eigenes kleines Stück lab.30 mit nach Hause nehmen, können v.a. die mittelgroßen Gäste in unseren Workshops. Diesmal mit shitty robots vom KidsLab und Adrian Ludwigs Drawbots.

WELCOME TO LAB.30 –THE MEDIA ART FESTIVAL IN AUGSBURG!
lab.30 festival in Augsburg sees itself as a meeting place and presentation space for local, regional and international artists from all areas of media art.
Over the course of four days, creatives will come together at Kulturhaus abraxas and other venues in Augsburg (Germany) to provide an insight into their current work: In exhibitions, at concerts, performances, workshops and club nights.
lab.30 offers a platform for artistic media experiments that uses new media, broadens perspectives, and enables discussions about what the digital worlds could look like and how we can all help shape our future in the long term. Both the dialogue between artists and audience and the networking of cultural professionals are key elements of the festival.
The festival makes it possible to experience how new technologies change our lives, how VR, robotics or machine learning can contribute to social and ecological progress.
fragile future
Our future is not a stable, predictable space: it is fragile and subject to constant change. In a world marked by crises and uncertainties as well as hope and progress, media art becomes a sounding board: it makes fragility visible, audible, tangible, and calls for the development of new forms of resilience and responsibility.
Exhibition
Over four days, lab.30 presents contemporary media art. The exhibits are not painted or drawn, but programmed, digitally created, motorized, wired, or robot-assisted, and often sonorous. At lab.30, participation is always encouraged: many of the installations are interactive and invite everyone, from tech novices to nerds, to discover, reflect, and touch. Numerous works question the use of new technologies and offer space for visions and hopes for the future. The abraxas cultural center is transformed into a creative laboratory that young and old alike can explore from the basement to the attic.
Performances
The exhibition is accompanied by a diverse program of concerts and performances. The ticket is valid for the exhibition and performances on each day. The performances take place in the theater of the Kulturhaus abraxas or in the neighboring St. Thaddäus Church.
Workshops
Medium-sized guests in particular can get hands-on and take their own little piece of lab.30 home with them at the end of our workshops. This time with shitty robots from KidsLab and Adrian Ludwig's Drawbots.
