INTERAKTIVE INSTALLATION
IVAN IOVINE (FRANKFURT A. M.):
Theodore is an interactive installation capable to write sentimental letters based only on image content. The main idea underlying this project is to find out if machines are able to understand feelings, context and generate intimate and confidential letters that express human-like sentiments using only pictures as input. For this purpose, several machine learning frameworks are used in the field of facial expression detection, landscape recognition and text generation.

»Theodore« schreibt Briefe, deren Inhalte nur auf Bildern basieren. Die zentrale Idee des Projekts ist es, herauszufinden, ob Maschinen in der Lage sind, Gefühle zu verstehen und intime, vertrauliche Botschaften zu erzeugen. Das System fordert Sie auf, ein Bild mit dem Betreff des Briefes hochzuladen. In einem zweiten Schritt geben Sie Ihren Namen, den Namen Ihrer Lieben und die Art der Beziehung ein. Anschließend beginnt das System mit der Bildanalyse und bringt einen individuellen Brief zu Papier.
