MEDIENNOSTALGIE IM KONZERT
MONICA VLAD (AT): Mediennostalgie in Reinform! Mit einer Nähmaschine, mit Radios, Kassettenrekordern und Walkmen kreiert die Linzer Künstlerin Monica Vlad neue Klangräume. Alle Geräte sind mit einem Mischer verbunden, der Klang wird zudem durch eigens angebrachte Piezo-Mikrophone zusätzlich beeinflusst und verstärkt. Das Ergebnis ist dunkler, experimenteller Ambient-Sound mit technoiden Einsprengseln, der auf die erste lab30 Clubnacht einstimmt.
MEDIA NOSTALGIA IN CONCERT
MONICA VLAD (AT): A sewing machine, two radios, one tape recorder, two cassette players/walkmen are connected to a mixer. Contact microphones are used to take the sound from the sound devices and amplify it. Additional piezos take the sound from the vibrating surface of some other devices. The other ones are directly connected to the mixer. Cassette tape loops were also created and played as physical loops. Effects are applied to most of the devices. The “new” instruments are played sequentially to create the sound for the performance.
