Infraphotographiables : NO PHOTOTraust du dich etwas zu fotografieren, das NO PHOTO heißt?
„Les infraphotographiables“ (auf Französisch: die „nicht-Fotografierbaren“) sind eine Werkserie, die etwas anderes zeigen, sobald man sie fotografiert. „No Photo“, das erste Werk der Serie, hat die Form eines schwarzen Monochroms (einfarbigen Bilds), das beim Fotografieren die Botschaft „NO PHOTO“ offenbart.
Manche Kamerasensoren erfassen ein breiteres Lichtspektrum als das menschliche Auge. Verborgene Infrarotlichtsysteme erzeugen zusammen mit einer Kamera ein paradoxes Erlebnis: Für das bloße Auge unsichtbar, werden Geheimnisse erst durch das Fotografieren sichtbar. Das Fotografieren ist der eigentliche Auslöser für das Erscheinen des Bildes.
Damit wirft es eine Frage auf, die sich durch einen Großteil der zeitgenössischen Bildkultur zieht: Was zeigt ein Foto?

Will you dare take a photo of something called NO PHOTO ?
“Les infraphotographiables” (in French: “the unphotographable devices”) is a series of works that reveal something different the moment they are photographed. “No Photo,” the first work in the series, takes the form of a black monochrome (single-color image) that reveals the message “NO PHOTO” when photographed. Some camera sensors capture a broader spectrum of light than the human eye. Hidden infrared light systems, when combined with a camera, create a paradoxical experience: invisible to the naked eye, secrets only become visible when photographed. The act of taking a photograph is what actually triggers the image’s appearance.
This raises a question that runs through much of contemporary visual culture: What does a photograph show?
