Hardware: Mikrofon, Computer, Beamer. Software: Touch Designer, 2026„See this sound (go away)“ übersetzt Schall in ein interaktives, visuell-räumliches Erlebnis.
Jede und jeder von uns sendet permanent: Beim Sprechen, Rascheln oder Singen. Unsere Signale werden ständig von uns weggetragen, breiten sich in alle Richtungen aus, werden umgewandelt und vergehen schließlich.
Die Installation schafft einen synästhetischen (über-sinnlichen) Moment, indem sie den meist unsichtbaren Schall sichtbar macht: Über das Prinzip eines Spektrogramms wird das vom Mikrofon aufgenommene Signal in seine Frequenzanteile zerlegt. So wird z.B. anschaulich, dass eine menschliche Stimme gar nicht ein Ganzes, sondern zusammengefügt ist – aus verschiedenen, überlagerten Teilen.

“See this sound (go away)” translates sound into an interactive, visual-spatial experience.
Each and every one of us is constantly transmitting: when we speak, rustle, or sing. Our signals are constantly carried away from us, spreading in all directions, being transformed, and eventually fading away.
The installation creates a synaesthetic (trans-sensory) moment by making sound—which is usually invisible—visible: Using the principle of a spectrogram, the signal recorded by the microphone is broken down into its frequency components. This makes it clear, for example, that a human voice is not a single, unified whole, but instead composed of various overlapping parts.
