Unter allen Exponaten wird von einer Fachjury der lab award (1.000 €) vergeben. Gesponsert von Everllence.

Eine Kinderjury kürt dieses Jahr den kids’ choice award, der mit großzügiger Unterstützung von MEHR MUSIK! und der Stabsstelle Kulturelle Bildung 500 € umfasst.

Das Publikum kann bis einschließlich Samstagnachmittag (17 Uhr) für sein Lieblingsexponat abstimmen, der Publikumspreis ist mit 500 € dotiert.

  • PUBLIC PRESENTATION OF THE AWARDS

    The lab award (1,000 €) will be awarded by a jury of experts from among all the exhibits. Sponsored by Everllence.

    A children's jury will select the kids' choice award, which, with the generous support of MEHR MUSIK! and the Stabsstelle Kulturelle Bildung (Office for Cultural Education), will include 500 €.

    The audience can vote for their favorite exhibit up to and including Saturday afternoon (5 p.m.). The audience award is endowed with 500 €.

Discrete pulse of light

‘Discrete Pulse of Light’, das zweite Werk eines Triptychons über Lichtphänomene, verwandelt Guillaume Côtés extreme Lichtempfindlichkeit in ein poetisches audiovisuelles Erlebnis. Synchronisierter Klang steuert eine choreografierte Lichtkomposition aus speziell entwickelten Linsen und reflektierenden 3D-gedruckten Oberflächen, die sich entlang einer Schiene bewegen. Das sichtbare Gerät wirkt wie ein Prisma und erzeugt eine ständig wandelnde visuelle Szene.

Das Projekt nähert sich natürlichen Lichtphänomenen wie Beugung und Interferenz und stellt Fragen zur Fragilität und Unschärfe unserer Wahrnehmung. Côtés persönliche Geschichte – als Jugendlicher konnte er kein Sonnenlicht ertragen, ohne ohnmächtig zu werden – verleiht dem Werk eine intime Tiefe. Es ist sein bislang persönlichstes Projekt und lädt dazu ein, eine Vision des rohen, leuchtenden Materials zu teilen – wie jene, die er einst mit geschlossenen Augen erlebte: flüchtige Sternbilder auf den Lidern, Erinnerungen an die Poesie der Kindheit.

  • DISCRETE PULSE OF LIGHT

    Discrete Pulse of Light, the second work in a triptych about light phenomena, transforms Guillaume Côté's extreme sensitivity to light into a poetic audiovisual experience. Synchronized sound controls a choreographed light composition made up of specially developed lenses and reflective 3D-printed surfaces that move along a track. The visible device acts like a prism, creating an ever-changing visual scene.

    The project approaches natural light phenomena such as diffraction and interference, raising questions about the fragility and blurriness of our perception. Côté's personal history—as a teenager, he could not tolerate sunlight without fainting—gives the work an intimate depth. It is his most personal project to date and invites viewers to share a vision of raw, luminous material—like the one he once experienced with his eyes closed: fleeting constellations on his eyelids, memories of childhood poetry.

The Spiral of Formcidae

In ‘The Spiral of Formicidae’ (frei übersetzt: Spirale der Ameisen) verarbeitet Milton Raggi seine Herkunft und Geschichte mit Hilfe von Die Internationale – einem bekannten Lied des kommunistischen Widerstands. Die Melodie ist auf zerbrochene Spieluhren graviert und bildet die klangliche Basis seines selbstgebauten Instruments.

Durch Klang und Bewegung entsteht eine Performance, die aus Bruchstücken eines zerfallenen Systems eine neue Sprache formt. Raggi nutzt diese Fragmente, um Realität zu hinterfragen und neue Bedeutungen zu schaffen. Das Ergebnis ist ein Klangbild einer verlorenen Zukunft – geprägt von der Erfahrung, mit dem Ende einer Utopie aufzuwachsen.

  • THE SPIRAL OF FORMICIDAE

    In ‘The Spiral of Formicidae’ (loosely translated: Spiral of Ants), Milton Raggi processes his origins and history with the help of Die Internationale – a well-known song of the communist resistance. The melody is engraved on broken music boxes and forms the tonal basis of his self-built instrument.

    Sound and movement create a performance that forms a new language from the fragments of a collapsed system. Raggi uses these fragments to question reality and create new meanings. The result is a soundscape of a lost future—shaped by the experience of growing up with the end of a utopia.

Abstract language model

Für das abstrakte Sprachmodell wurde ein künstliches neuronales Netzwerk mit dem gesamten Zeichensatz des Unicode-Standards (über 65.000 Zeichen) trainiert. Durch das Herausfiltern und das Einfügen von Übergängen innerhalb dieser künstlich geschaffenen Zeichensysteme entsteht eine übergangsfreie universelle Sprache, die als transhumane bzw. transmaschinelle Sprache betrachtet werden kann. Die Live-Performance präsentiert die Zustände dieses Prozesses mit einer audiovisuellen Erzählung.

  • ABSTRACT LANGUAGE MODEL

    For the abstract language model, an artificial neural network was trained with the entire character set of the Unicode standard (over 65,000 characters). By filtering out and inserting transitions within these artificially created character systems, a transition-free universal language is created that can be considered as a transhuman or trans-machine language. The live performance presents the states of this process with an audiovisual narrative.
