Music for the Augmented Pipe Organ

In diesem Konzerterlebnis verschmilzt die lebendige Akustik der Orgel mit Techniken elektronischer Musik. Die Kombination aus historischer Orgel und Computern und Elektronik erschafft neue Möglichkeiten des Instruments, die weit über die zeitgenössische Orgelmusik hinausgehen. Durch die Computersteuerung der Orgelpfeifen und -register werden die Klangfarben des Instruments von seiner Tastaturoberfläche losgelöst, um extreme minimale und maximale Klangwelten zu erzeugen. Das Konzert erforscht die neuen Möglichkeiten und Anomalien der Orgel und zeigt, wie sich die Poetik der Orgel im Verhältnis zu den digitalen Technologien verändert.

  • MUSIC FOR THE AUGMENTED PIPE ORGAN

    This concert experience merges the vibrant acoustics of the pipe organ with the techniques of electronic music. The project combines historical pipe organs with computers and electronics to explore new possibilities from the instrument which resonate far beyond contemporary organ music. Through computer control of the organ‟s pipes and stops, the timbres of the instrument are disassociated from its keyboard interface to conjure extremes of minimal and maximal soundworlds. Exploring new affordances and anomalies of the organ, the concert reveals how the organ‟s poetics are changing in relationship to digital technologies.
