Die interaktive Installation „5 4 3 2 1“ ist von der sog. „Doomsday Clock“ inspiriert, einer virtuellen Uhr, die anzeigt, wie nahe wir dem Weltuntergang sind. Sie versucht, Bewusstsein zu wecken, aber niemand passt mehr auf. Uns ist die Aussichtslosigkeit schon längst klar.

„5 4 3 2 1“ zeigt einen hektischen 9-zu-1-Countdown, der in Schleife läuft, aber nie die 0 erreicht. Dieser Zähler ist schnell und stressig, als ob eine Bombe kurz vor der Explosion stünde. Besuchende können dem Stress ein Ende setzen und einen Fußschalter betätigen, um den Countdown auf 0 zu bringen und den Weltuntergang auszulösen. Wer traut sich?

    The interactive installation "5 4 3 2 1" is inspired by the so-called "Doomsday Clock", a virtual clock that shows how close we are to the end of the world. It tries to raise awareness, but no one is paying attention anymore; we feel doomed already. "5 4 3 2 1" shows a frantic 9-to-1 countdown that loops but never reaches 0. This counter is fast and stressful, as if a bomb is about to explode. Visitors can put an end to the stress and press a foot switch to bring the countdown to 0 and trigger the end of the world. Who dares?
