hex/A\ is an audio, video and laser performance. Like a brush of light, the laser amplifies the video and the perception we have of it with its spatial character and its spectral purity, concise and dazzling. The project defends a crossover aesthetic that is minimal, geometric and data-related as well as organic, complex and nature-related. It integrates new forms of performance and avant-garde interfaces specifically programmed for the project.
It was the discovery that permeated the twentieth century - that led to outsized reactions when the announcement of its practical production went public. Public opinion was inflamed by the discovery: the myth that became truth made even the most serious scientific commentators of the time go into raptures.
At the same time, the technological prophecies of artists before the 1960s gave birth to the retro-futuristic trend, in which the laser occupies a special place. It is timeless and awakens in the viewer's mind a fantasy that is as retro-futuristic, nostalgic and reassuring as it is futuristic, stimulating and unsettling. Past, present and future at the same time.

hex/A\ ist eine Audio-, Video- und Laser-Performance. Wie ein Pinsel aus Licht verstärkt der Laser das Video und die Wahrnehmung, die wir von ihm haben, durch seinen räumlichen Charakter und seine spektrale Reinheit, prägnant und schillernd. Das Projekt verteidigt eine Crossover-Ästhetik, die sowohl minimal, geometrisch und datenbezogen als auch organisch, komplex und naturbezogen ist. Es integriert neue Formen der Aufführung und avantgardistische Schnittstellen, die speziell für das Projekt programmiert wurden.
Lange vor der Herstellung des ersten Lasers durch Theodore Maiman im Jahr 1960, als außer einer Handvoll Spezialisten noch niemand von Einsteins Vorhersage des Phänomens der stimulierten Emission (1917) wusste, "existierte" der Laser bereits für die breite Öffentlichkeit. Viele Science-Fiction-Autoren haben die Existenz eines übermächtigen und zielgerichteten Lichtstrahls beschworen, der in der Lage ist, alles auf seinem Weg zu zerstören.
