QUADRATURE
JULIANE GÖTZ, SEBASTIAN ALEXANDER NEITSCH (BERLIN):

The installation calculates the paths of 590 satellites in real time and speculatively reconstructs the view they are capturing, offering artistically intervened images of what the satellites could be observing. Mainly satellites passing near the exhibition venue are selected, combined with other specially interesting or suggestive satellite images. Everytime the installation selects a new satellite, the screen shows the data relative to it, such as country of origin or year of launch.

QUADRATURE

live a/v-Performance a cybernetic setup of synthesizers, modified OHPs, a robotic arm and two human artists. electronics: korhan erel visuals & development: Malte Jehmlich a sputnic visual arts production Are robots helping us or are we helping them? Visual performer Malte Jehmlich and computer musician  Korhan Erel pretend to answer this question using an overly complicated cybernetic system of overhead projectors, transparency foil loopers, servo animatronics and a robotic arm, which interact via sensors and control signals with a sound setup consisting of a modular synthesizer and other sound devices. This very own take on the current hot topics of robotics, AI and transhumanism uses current and outdated media technologies with references to puppetry, toys and shadowplay. The setup creates a human-machine symbiosis, where errors and malfunctions are purely consensual.... ---------------------------------------------------- in cooperation with moers festival supported by Landesbüro Freie Darstellende Künste NRW Kultursekretariat Wuppertal ----------------------------------------------------
