SomBat Walk is a night walk where Davide Tidoni and Hannes Hoelzl invite participants to explore the acoustics of specific locations by means of a custom built impulse Generator (the SomBat, by Airborne Instruments) which helps humans to aurally experience their environment the way bats do. The walk is structured around specific key-locations characterised by unique acoustics and architectural features which will serve as starting point for developing site specific listening activities. Participants will contribute to the activities switching between the roles of the performer and the listener, at times attending to the sounds, at other times producing them.

In der Nachtwanderung SomBat Walk kann man die Akustik der Stadt mithilfe eines speziellen Impulsgenerators, dem so genannten SomBat erforschen. Dieser tragbare Klangprojektor ermöglicht es Menschen, das exzellente raumbildende Gehör von Fledermäusen – ansatzweise – zu erleben. Akustisch ausgewählte Orte werden zu Ausgangspunkten für die spontane Entfaltung ortsspezifischer Höraktivitäten. Die Teilnehmenden sind wie die Workshopleiter gleichermaßen Zuhörendende als auch Performer.
