MANJA EBERT (BERLIN): Die 9-Kanal-Videoinstallation »Sleeping Squad« (»schlafende Truppe«) zeigt im Live-Stream Aufnahmen von Schlafenden. Die Protagonist*innen in Manja Eberts Arbeit stellten sich ihre Webcams selbst in ihre Schlafzimmer. Mutmaßlich, weil man heute mit Intimität mehr denn je Sensationslust weckt und so die Zahl seiner digitalen Anhänger*innen steigert. »Sleeping Squad« führt uns vor Augen, dass die Menschen ihre intimsten Rückzugsorte in der modernen, vernetzten Gesellschaft freiwillig aufgeben.
VIDEO INSTALLATION
MANJA EBERT (BERLIN): »Sleeping Squad« is a multi channel video installation which includes video from social media, on which people are live streaming during their sleep. Perform life. Always on. Due to this motto of modern society the protagonists actively frame their selves to perform one of the last private, unconscious and unsurveiled act in modern society for the camera – their own sleep. Within the installation their performance becomes a collective „sleeping selfie“.
